Looe Primary Academy Celebrates 40th Birthday!
Last Friday we celebrated with Looe Primary Academy who recently marked a milestone, celebrating its 40th birthday with a vibrant community event.
The festivities commenced with a performance by the renowned Polperro Fishermen’s Choir, setting a cheerful tone for the day. A special moment followed when Mr. Gibson, the very first person to step through the school’s doors in 1984, cut the event ribbon.
The celebration truly showcased the best of Looe’s community spirit, with key local groups like the RNLI Looe Lifeboat Station, Looe Library and Community Hub, The Lions Club of Looe and Looe Shedders making appearances. Families and attendees enjoyed a wide range of activities, including a ride on the Looe Land Train, pony rides, magic shows, and even the opportunity to meet alpacas, ensuring fun for all ages.
The success of the event was largely thanks to the efforts of Becky Marshall, Assistant Head and key organiser of the celebration, who warmly welcomed guests throughout the day. It was a fitting tribute to a school that has played a central role in the community for four decades!
