Commemorating VE Day.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve dedicated significant time and resource to planting and maintaining the Mariners Garden in preparation for the summer season. Our maintenance manager – Andy, alongside our Deputy Clerk Sharon, have gone above and beyond, personally watering the plants to ensure the garden is a bright and welcoming space for both locals and visitors.
We were eagerly anticipating seeing the garden in full bloom & sharing this good news with you! Nevertheless, we are saddened to report that several plants have slowly gone missing and as of late, multiple have been dug out or stolen.
This behaviour is deeply disheartening for all those who have worked hard on this project. Please remember that the upkeep of this garden is funded through the council tax contributions of Looe residents. Theft and vandalism not only undermine these efforts but also increase the burden on our community. Be advised: this area is monitored by CCTV.
Let us work together to respect and protect our shared spaces. Thank you for your continued support.
On the 80th anniversary of VE Day, we reflect and pay tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the men and women who served our country during the Second World War.

Due to staffing constraints, the repair work on the accessible toilet at Guildhall, originally scheduled to be completed Wednesday 29th April, has been postponed until further notice. The maintenance is now expected to be completed next week. The nearest accessible toilet during this time is the seafront.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. For further enquiries, please contact us at: enquiries@looetowncouncil.gov.uk.

A spotlight on: Looe Marine Conservation Group (LMCG), a passionate, volunteer-run organisation dedicated to exploring, protecting, and celebrating the natural beauty of our local waters. The group runs a collection of free events throughout the year, for locals and visitors alike! Recently, the groups ever-popular rock pool ramble returned as Easter crowds gathered at Hannafore to discover our local wildlife.

The group has a busy schedule this Spring, with opportunities for everyone to get involved.

Please be advised the accessible toilet at the Guildhall will remain closed until Wednesday, 30th April due to an ongoing drainage issue, which has required the removal of flooring.
Unfortunately, the repair work has taken longer than originally communicated. We apologise for this delay and for any inconvenience it may cause. During this time, the nearest accessible toilet is at the seafront.
To help accommodate visitors, we have opened the ladies’ toilets at the Guildhall. This will temporarily operate as unisex during this period of maintenance.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these essential repairs.
Kind Regards,
