Looe Really Are Back on the Footballing Map – The Cornish Times
/in News /by TeganUpcoming Overnight Works at Bone Mill Sewage Pumping Station – May 22nd
/in News /by TeganWe would like to inform residents and visitors that essential cleaning works will be carried out by South West Water at the Bone Mill Sewage Pumping Station and Storm Tank overnight on Thursday, 22nd May, starting from 5:00 PM and continuing through the night until the morning of Friday, 23rd May.
These works are necessary to ensure the continued safe and efficient operation of the pumping station and storm tank. As part of the process:
-
The clean will result in the temporary closure of approximately two-thirds of the Mill Pool Car Park.
-
While every effort will be made to minimise disruption, residents may notice an increase in noise and potential odours in the area. Odour control units will be in place to help mitigate this.
-
Tankering will be in place throughout the night to manage the debris from the clean.
-
In addition to the tankers the residents of the town may see light towers that will be on site.
On behalf of South West Water, thank you for your patience and understanding as they carry out this essential clean.
Commemorating VE Day.

A message to protect our Mariners Garden.
/in News /by TeganOver the past few weeks, we’ve dedicated significant time and resource to planting and maintaining the Mariners Garden in preparation for the summer season. Our maintenance manager – Andy, alongside our Deputy Clerk Sharon, have gone above and beyond, personally watering the plants to ensure the garden is a bright and welcoming space for both locals and visitors.
We were eagerly anticipating seeing the garden in full bloom & sharing this good news with you! Nevertheless, we are saddened to report that several plants have slowly gone missing and as of late, multiple have been dug out or stolen.
This behaviour is deeply disheartening for all those who have worked hard on this project. Please remember that the upkeep of this garden is funded through the council tax contributions of Looe residents. Theft and vandalism not only undermine these efforts but also increase the burden on our community. Be advised: this area is monitored by CCTV.
Let us work together to respect and protect our shared spaces. Thank you for your continued support.
