Guildhall Toilets

Guildhall Public Toilets Closed for Refurbishment

Reminder: The public toilets at the Guildhall will be closed for refurbishment from Monday 7 September until Wednesday 30 September.
During this period, we will be:
✅ Removing the existing sanitary ware and cubicles
✅ Lifting the old flooring
✅ Installing a new hardwearing resin floor
✅ Fitting brand new sanitary ware and cubicles
The new resin floor has been chosen because it is significantly more durable and longer lasting than vinyl flooring. However, it requires warm, dry conditions to cure properly.
While summer would provide ideal installation conditions, closing the facilities during the peak visitor season was not considered appropriate. Equally, waiting until October would carry a much higher risk of unsuitable weather conditions, potentially affecting the quality of the installation.
Unfortunately, there is no ideal time to undertake works of this nature. By carrying out the refurbishment in September, we can complete the project while minimising disruption and avoid the possibility of a much longer closure throughout the winter months.
During this time the nearest toilets will be at the seafront. We appreciate the inconvenience this temporary closure may cause and thank residents and visitors for their patience while these important improvements are carried out.
If you have any questions about the refurbishment works, please email enquiries@looetowncouncil.gov.uk and a member of the team will be happy to help.
