Spotlight on: Boundless Trust, Looe
Boundless Trust is a youth and community charity working in Looe and the surrounding area. They run several projects with the people of Looe and local organisations to empower people to live life to the full. Most of this work operates out of, The Haven, located in town opposite Quayside Fresh.
We spoke to Caleb who works with the Boundless Trust who said:
“We run a drop-in welcome space and community larder twice weekly. We run our weekly youth and children’s clubs and our holiday activities there too. Twice a week, we deliver meals to those in need and, monthly, we bring people together for a community meal hosted at the Millpool Centre. On top of all this, we operate a hardship fund on behalf of the town and run a food distribution service in conjunction with Liskeard and Looe Foodbank.
As a charity, we rely on the support of over 40 volunteers for the running of all of these different activities and projects. Not only does volunteering with Boundless provide people a chance to give back to their community, but it is also an opportunity to gain new skills, improve mental health and wellbeing, connect with others in the town, and to be a part of improving Looe for everyone.”
In addition to this, Boundless Trust are also running a secret Santa for the festive period, where they are asking you to help by donating a gift of a book, toy or game for a child aged from 0-11 years.
Steps:
Take a new, unused and unwrapped gift to the following drop-off points by Wednesday 11th December.
- Looe Library in the Millpool
- Carla Jones Estate Agents at the Round House, Fore Street, West Looe
- Tots and Treasures at 14 Higher Market Street, East Looe
What an amazing initiative! If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and supporting any of the projects mentioned, you can message Boundless Trust on Facebook or email cyfboundless@gmail.com.
Kind Regards,
