Roadworks Notification: A387 Sandplace Road, East Looe

The following information has been provided by Cornwall Highways regarding road works that commenced 29/05/2025:

Following ongoing monitoring of the cracks forming in the outer wheel track of the highway at A387 Tuckers Lake, between Station Road and Sandplace. A geotechnical led decision has been made to implement traffic management measures to protect the embankment and public highway users.

This decision is based on the worsening condition and expansion of the existing cracks. The measures in the form of two-way traffic lights will be implemented from 29/05/2025. This will reduce traffic loading and ensure the safety of passing vehicles, should the carriageway deteriorate further.

The area will be subject to future detailed ground investigation works. Accordingly, the site will remain under temporary traffic management controls for the duration of the investigation period and any subsequent assessment or remediation activities deemed necessary for safety.

 

An update will be provided when a timeline programme of works is created.
