Looe and Quiberon Twinning Celebrations Begin with French Fun Palace
October marks a very special milestone for Looe as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of our town twinning with Quiberon.
The anniversary celebrations will begin on Saturday 3 October with a French Fun Palace at Looe Library & Community Hub, taking place from 10am to 2pm.
This free community event will offer a taste of Breton and French culture, with a varied programme including live music from Ilow Splann, Cornish bagpipes, a welcome from the Mayor of Looe, a special performance by the Bards of the Cornish Gorsedh, French-themed activities, language fun and opportunities to learn more about the twinning relationship between Looe and Quiberon.

A special performance by Bards of the Cornish Gorsedh. A celebratory poem composed and performed by Mark Camp, accompanied by Dr Ken George and his wife Malou, with translations in Cornish & Breton
11.15am Twinning Quiz (Adults/Families)
11.30am French Fun & Conversation with Heather & Louis (Junior Library)
12pm – 1pm Live music from Ilow Splann
Plus, enjoy free coffee & croissants, Breton themed bead craft, write a postcard to Quiberon (in French) & borrow books that are currently popular at Quiberon Library.
The event is free to attend and everyone is welcome.
