We have received an update on the closure of the Liskeard–Looe branch line from GWR.
Heavy rainfall and high tides during December caused damage to several bridges, making it unsafe for trains to operate. More recently, Storm Goretti brought further heavy rain and strong winds, delaying repair work.
Most repairs have now been completed and we had hoped to reopen the line today. However, due to further rainfall and high tides, it is not yet safe to do so.
All services between Liskeard, Sandplace and Looe remain suspended until at least the end of Saturday 24 January 2026. Please check before travelling, as this may change.
Liskeard: Opposite the main station building
Sandplace: Bus stops by the station entrance
Looe: In front of the station
