Flood Alert – Storm Chandra

A flood alert has been issued by the Environment Agency:
“Flood alert in force: South Cornwall coast from Gribbin Head to Rame Head.Flooding is possible for: Gribbin Head to Rame Head including Fowey, Golant, Lostwithiel, Lerryn, Polruan, Polperro, Looe and the Looe Rivers and Seaton. High tides today may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of the morning high tide on Tuesday 27th 2026. The high tide at Plymouth on Tuesday is at 11:11, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 1.49mAOD. Expect tide levels along the coast to be between 0.9 & 1.0m, above tide table level. Strong Force 7 southerly winds and offshore wave heights of around 5.5m are forecast over the high tide. Conditions should ease for Tuesday evening’s high tide.  ”
Residents in flood-risk areas are advised to take precautions to protect their property and to avoid walking or driving through floodwater, which can be deeper and more dangerous than it looks.
