Could You Be Looe’s Town Crier?

Looe Town Council is inviting applications from enthusiastic individuals interested in becoming the town’s official Town Crier.

The Town Crier plays an important role in community life, representing Looe at civic and community events, welcoming visitors and dignitaries, and delivering traditional proclamations on special occasions throughout the year.

The Council is keen to hear from people who are confident, outgoing and passionate about supporting their local community. No previous experience is necessary.

This voluntary role offers a unique opportunity to become an ambassador for Looe, helping to promote the town and represent it at a variety of community, civic and ceremonial occasions.

Looe Mayor, Stephen Remington, said “Looe has been without a Town Crier for too long and we want to put that right. We are looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, supporting local activities and representing Looe with pride. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity, and we would encourage anyone interested to get in touch.”
