Partnership Supports Safe and Welcoming Summer in Looe
Looe Town Council and Looe Business Forum are once again working together to support a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment in the town centre during the busy summer holiday season.
Through a joint funding initiative involving Looe Town Council and Looe Business Forum’s 40 member businesses, Phoenix Security has returned to Looe for the school summer holidays, providing an additional visible presence in the town.
The initiative aims to support local businesses, assist in reducing incidents of anti-social behaviour and shoplifting, and help ensure residents and visitors can enjoy everything Looe has to offer throughout the summer months.
Looe Mayor, Stephen Remington, said “Looe Town Council and Looe Business Forum will be working together once again over the summer to protect and promote our community as a great place in which to live, work, visit and invest.”
“We are pleased to support this collaborative initiative, which helps provide an additional reassuring presence in the town during the busy holiday period. Working together in this way benefits residents, businesses and visitors alike, while helping to maintain the welcoming atmosphere that Looe is known for.”
Chair of Looe Business Forum, Peter Friend, added “Looe Business Forum is appreciative of the support from Looe Town Council for their match-funding of the Town Centre Security Scheme once again this year. This is a co-funded project, made possible with the financial support of 40 local businesses, then matched by Looe Town Council.
We are delighted to be working with the team from Phoenix Security. Two members of their team will be present in Looe throughout the summer school holidays. Their team will help provide a safe & enjoyable town centre for both locals & visitors to Looe over the summer and support our member businesses to drive down instances of shop lifting and anti-social behaviour.”
Phoenix Security South West Ltd Managing Director, Charley Tasker, said: “We’re pleased to be back supporting the Looe community once again. Our team has already built a strong rapport with local shop owners, and they know we’re here to provide support whenever it’s needed. We’re proud to play our part in helping keep Looe a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable place for both residents and visitors.”
The partnership reflects a shared commitment between Looe Town Council, Looe Business Forum, local businesses and partner agencies to support the town during one of its busiest times of year, helping ensure Looe remains a welcoming destination for residents and visitors alike.
