Our Councillors and staff are a dedicated, positive team who make a real difference to the town. We currently have a vacancy on Looe Town Council and have issued a Notice of Vacancy. If requested by the community, there will be a by-election for this seat – please see all the information on the Notice below.

You may also want to attend meetings of the Council or its Committees to see how we work together and how decisions are made – all of our meetings are open to the public so please let us know if you’d like to come along.
To be a Town Councillor you must be a British, commonwealth or EU citizen; at least 18 years old; and meet at least one of the following qualification categories:-
(a) be registered as a local government elector in the parish, OR
(b) have occupied, as owner or tenant, any land or premises in the parish during the whole of the preceding twelve months, OR
(c) have worked (your principal or only place of work) in the parish during the preceding twelve months, OR
(d) lived in the parish during the whole of the preceding twelve months, or within 4.8 km of it.
We’re seeking energetic, proactive people from all walks of life who would like to become a Town Councillor. We’d especially like to hear from women and younger residents who’d like to get involved in local government and supporting the community.
