If you love Looe and want to make a difference in the Community, this could be a great opportunity for you. It may be simpler to become a Town Councillor than you think and it can be really rewarding with the opportunity to get involved in different areas and learn new skills.

It’s important that a Council reflects the diversity of the town so you could come from any walk of life and have a very different education, background and skill-set to other Members. What’s important is that you are involved and interested in where you live, determined to get things done, great with people and keen to make a real difference.  We’re a vibrant, forward-thinking team who seek to represent the whole town and to use Council powers positively to benefit our community.

If you’d like to know more, our Quick Guide explains a bit more about the role and what we do. This is a really exciting time for the town, with several projects taking place so we’d love to hear from potential new Councillors.
