snow in looe 30 nov 2023

Weather and Roads

After this morning’s snow, we have checked salting plans with Cornwall Council who confirm that the primary road network is being treated in line with their forecasting instructions. Looe was treated at 04:00am this morning and will be again tonight, pending the lunch time forecast.

All available resources are allocated to keep main roads clear from hazards and there are no plans to treat other areas at the moment. If you identify any particular hazards caused by snow and ice, please contact Cornwall Highways using the online reporting system at Report a problem with a road or pavement – Cornwall Council, or telephone 0300 1234 222 (24-hour service). Please include location details so that the situation can be assessed and resources sent to the places in most need.

Looe Town Council have several salt bins around the town which all have a supply of salt and can be used by anyone to treat local public areas, not for private properties. If you identify an empty salt bin, please let us know so that we can ensure supplies are topped up when available.
