Update on Rail Strikes
Industrial action by ASLEF, the train drivers’ union, will affecting local rail services this week including a strike on Saturday 6 April when a much reduced timetable will be in operation, with the majority of our network having no service whatsoever. Where trains are running, they will start later and finish much earlier than usual.
Network Rail will also be carrying out emergency engineering work at London Paddington on Saturday (6 April) which means there will be no GWR services whatsoever between London Paddington and Reading.
There could be further disruption from today until Saturday 6th, and on Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th April due to industrial action short of a strike, which means GWR will have no spare drivers available. While a full timetable is planned, there are likely to be some short-notice alterations and cancellations, especially at weekends or late at night. The Night Riviera sleeper service is also cancelled from now to Tuesday 9 April.
