Fraud is the most commonly experienced crime in the UK (source: National Crime Agency) with an estimated 3.5 million incidents between April 2022 and March 2023. 80% of fraud is cyber-related (source: National Fraud Intelligence Bureau) and scams are becoming more sophisticated and less easy to spot.
The Government has recently published a national fraud strategy and produced guidance about spotting fraud, protecting yourself from scams, reporting incidents that happen, and recovering if you’ve been a victim of fraud.
