Seafront Toilets Refurbishment
Our maintenance team, and lots of tradespeople are continuing to work hard to complete refurbishment at the public conveniences at East Looe seafront.
Over the last week, cubicle doors have all been replaced and the team are busy with painting and decoring of the premises. All the necessary electrical work has now been done and plumbers have removed the old water tank and system before they begin fitting basins and new taps for us this week. New toilets will be installed next week and these, as well as the taps will all be sensor operated so should help us to save the amount of water used.
On a trial basis, the urinals in the Gents will be converted for waterless operation and we’d be interested to hear feedback about these from users once the site has re-opened. We are leaving plumbing in place temporarily so that we can revert to a water-fed system if needed but hope that diverting the waste from basins through urinal pipes will help to avoid the smells which can be associated with a waterless system.
