Rose Beds Hannafore
Yesterday 8 Sailors from HMS Raleigh working together with Looe in Bloom, the Royal Naval Association and Looe Town and Cornwall Councillors helped to clear brambles from the Hannafore rose beds. It was a daunting task to rid the rose beds of 2 metre high brambles. Using tools and safety equipment provided by Cormac the team spent 2 hours cutting down the brambles to reveal the roses that have been hidden for many years. Hannafore Kiosk kindly provided free hot drinks to keep the team refreshed and all were also rewarded with pasties curtesy of the Councillors as well as a cake provided by Looe Town Council. Whilst there is still some work left to do to fully restore the beds, they are now clearly manageable for the final spruce up that is required. A big thank you goes out to all involved and especially to the Royal Navy for their energetic and much needed support. Without their help this work would simply not have been achieved
