GWR Update – rail strikes

Strike action by the ASLEF union (train drivers) is taking place today, with strike action by the RMT union continuing tomorrow (Friday 6th) and on Saturday 7th. GWR will have a very limited service in place and customers are advised to only travel if necessary, and to make alternative arrangements. Journey planners are now up to date and full information including on refunds is available on the dedicated strike page at www.gwr.com/strike.

Services on Sunday 8th will also be affected, with a later start following industrial action the previous day, a reduced level of service through the day and services subject to short notice alterations or cancellations. Customer should check before they travel using www.gwr.com/check.

GWR expect services to run as normal from Monday 9th January. At the moment, no further strike action has been called by the trade unions
