Cllr Edwina Hannaford

It is with deep regret that we must announce the death of our much loved colleague Edwina Hannaford after a long illness.

Edwina served the community of Looe as a Councillor for 20 years and will be sorely missed. Further details of her funeral will be given as soon as they are available.

 

All of us at Looe Town Council, members, staff and volunteers, are reflecting deeply on the news of Edwina’s death.

It is hard to do full justice to Edwina’s contribution. Over two decades she served as a Town Councillor, Cornwall Councillor and Mayor of Looe.  Only recently she was awarded the Freedom of the Town, we believe the first such award ever made in Looe. Her passion for our town was legendary and her private kindness, tenacious support for those in need, profound care and boundless energy serve as an example to us all.
