What is the Neighbourhood Plan?

If you live in Looe, you should have received a polling card for a referendum on 12th May when residents have an opportunity to vote Yes or No to adopting a Neighbourhood Plan for Looe. The proposed plan is the result of around six years of work by the Steering Group, supported by Town Councillors and Cornwall Council, who have taken public feedback on board to develop a series of planning policies. If the outcome of the referendum is a ‘Yes’ vote, these policies will be adopted and used by Cornwall Council to decide planning applications in Looe.

To find out more about the proposed plan, come along and speak to a member of the Steering Group at any of the following sessions, all from 10am to 1pm on:

  • Thursday 28 April – Looe Library
  • Thursday 5 May – Looe Library
  • Saturday 7 May – Looe Library
  • Wednesday 11 May – The Rose Garden, East Looe

If you can’t make these, the video attached below explains more about Neighbourhood Planning, or listen out on Radio Looe for interview with councillors about what’s in the Plan and how it was developed.

You can find more detailed information about the proposals for Looe and lists of all those involved in the Steering Group at Looe Neighbourhood Plan (futurelooe.town).
