Library Information

The management of Looe Library and Information service has transferred to Looe Town Council as part of Cornwall Council's Devolution Programme, which is helping councils and communities take over local ownership, management and control of services.  Cornwall Council continues to support the Town Council to deliver the local service.  Looe Library customers will still be members of the Cornwall Library and Information Service and will be able to borrow from the Cornwall-wide stock of books, CD's and DVD's, as well as having access to online newspapers, e-magazines, eBooks and computers.

Looe Library and Information Service is now closed for refurbishment.  The library closed to the public on 1st July 2019, with the works due to be completed by 22nd October 2019.
We apologise for an inconvenience caused.

There will be regular visits to the town by the mobile library service every four weeks, beginning on 8th July, with further visits scheduled for 5th August, 2nd September and 30th September.  On these days the mobile van will be parked at the small car park allocated to library ussers at the Millpool between 9.30am and 10.15am.  It will then move to Barbican Road for 10.40am where it will remain until 11am.  Customers will also be able to borrow at least 30 books during the closure period and continue to have access to the RVS home library service.

There will also be a staffed 'Click and Collect' service for library customers based in the Millpool Centre, West Looe on Tuesday and Thursday between 11am and 1pm.  This will allow customers to collect reservations they have made.  Customers can also collect reservations from the mobile van when it visits the Millpool Centre (but not Barbican Road).  If they miss the mobile van their reservations will be taken to the Millpool Centre for collection on the allocated days.

Library customers will also be able to access and use the computers in the Millpool Centre, West Looe on Tuesday and Thursday between 11am and 1pm.
