Looe Town Council

Looe is the stunningly beautiful fishing port on the south coast of Cornwall, part of Caradon District and within easy travelling distance of Plymouth and the historic market town of Liskeard.

The Looe Town Council has fifteen elected members from all areas of Looe, which is not warded. Members of the public will generally make enquiries of the Councillor they know or with whom they feel most comfortable.

Councillors are elected on a four yearly cycle, in May of the election year, and the Mayor from among, and by, the Councillors annually.

The Councillors are listed under the members section and they are happy to talk, listen and give advice on matters appertaining to Looe. Contact should be made through the Clerk to the Council between 10.00 and 12.00 o'clock daily Monday to Friday.

The Council currently owns no properties but manages the street cleaning/public convenience cleaning in partnership with Cornwall Council and leases the Health Centre patients car park.  The Council also runs the self-funding Tourist Information Centre.  We operate from Looe Guildhall, located in East Looe and owned by East Looe Town Trust.

St Martin's Road - Road Closure Updates

Update 26th January 2012

FLRC Committee and Cllr Armand Toms met with Nigel Lush and Alan Knowles of Barratt Homes last evening to discuss the revised sewage route being proposed by Barratt Homes. Nigel confirmed that SWW have been extremely cooperative in identifying the new route, which completely avoids St Martins Rd, ensuring there will not be any requirement for road closure.

Once Barratt Homes have finalised the detailed design of the route with SWW, we will issue full details and a map showing the new route. We expect this to be within 2-3 weeks.

This is obviously wonderful news and we look forward to being in a position to publish the final details as mentioned above, which will bring this matter to a close”

Best wishes
FLRC Committee
